Reviews for View Sonic 3D HD Video Processor (VP3D1) (Personal Computers) Could not get the cd rom that came with it to work on my computer, but didn't need it anyway. Just plugged in an hdmi from my 3d source to the vp3d1 and from there to the projector. (I have a vivitek qumi) The 3d works great from my ps3 games, 3d blu ray player, and directv. (some ps3's will give you fits on 3d blu ray movies. see my qumi review)Have not noticed any ghosting like I did from the samsung plasma I had. My wife would get head aches from the samsung. The dlp does not bother her. The 3d effect is better in our eyes too. More popped out looking. Not really sure on the sbs button it puts it in 3d, however; it shifts the picture right half is on the left side and left half is on the right side. I can't watch it like that. The only things I wish this had is a remote, one more hdmi in and one more out for non 3d surround sound systems, and a 2d-3d converter. Sbs converts it, but not to an acceptable format. I am using the ultimate 3d heaven ultra clear dlp link 3d glasses. They work great with my set up. I bought my projector, 3d converter box, 3d glasses, and 3d blu ray player from amazon. Great service.

I was waiting and waiting for the Optoma 3D-XL to come down in price when I stumbled across this beauty, the VP3D1 processor box. Is much cheaper, comes without glasses but there is a mail in rebate to get a pair of PGD-250 DLP Glasses. I recommend buying a pair of the PGD-250 glasses with this VP3D1 processor box. You can use the mail-in offer ones as your second pair.
I really do love this box. Two HDMI 1.4 inputs, one HDMI 1.3 output to my Acer projector. I connected one input to the PS3 for 3D gaming and the other input to the PC for 3D videos.
- The PS3 was easy to setup, just go to video settings and select auto. A setup wizard will launch and detect you have a 3DTV connected. Each time you launch a 3D game or video, the ps3 will present a pop-up box notifying you that 3D content is being displayed.
- The PC is slightly more complicated, you need to have the PC's screen resolution set to 1920x1080 and play videos encoded for side-by-side (SBS), then press the SBS button on the front of the VP3D1 processor box. Content for 3D SBS is sparse, but you can find it. Head on over to YouTube3D setup page and select Side by Side [...].
My only warning is that the VP3D1 processor box is only for 720p DLP TVs and Projectors. You will be disappointed if you are expected 1080p resolution. Personally, I like the way 720p looks better than 1080p.

Reviews for View Sonic 3D HD Video Processor (VP3D1) (Personal Computers) I just finished watching Avatar in 3D at home after receiving my VP3D1 today. The viewing experience was extraordinary. I had previously went to the theater to watch Avatar in 3D. I had to wait for this unit almost two months but the wait was worth it. Watching the movie on my 10 foot screen at home with my Viewsonic PJD-6531W 3D projector was just as satisfying as being at the movie theater. The setup was super easy and the VP3D1 converter performed flawlessly. Brightness of the picture was not an issue even in eco-mode on the projector. I had a few doubts after reading all of the pluses and minuses on the discussion forums. After viewing my own setup at home I no longer have any misgivings about watching 3D at home. I'm so glad that it looks just great. To me, it's just as good as being at the movie theater. Thank you Viewsonic and Amazon. Seeing is believing and I've seen, so now I believe. The size of the projector screen is a real asset. Sitting back about 14 feet, the ratio is about what I'd see at the movie theater. The movie was just as good as I remembered it too. The movie and the effects were just fabulous. Enough emoting I guess. I think I'll watch another movie. I'll break out the popcorn too. My glasses are the Xpand X102's and the Blu-ray 3D player is the Panasonic DMP-BDT110.
